Production Manager

Our Client, South of Canton, Ohio looking for an Impact Player with both Lean Sigma Skills and Production Leadership Skills. This leading company has multiple locations around the world and is fast, flexible and focused on their customers and sustaining growth. As the Production Manager you will report directly to the Plant Manager and help assist with running a 200,000 square foot facility.  This facility is known as one of the top producing downstream facilities within the company and currently runs 7 days per week. The Production Manager will focus on 3 main areas (Safety, Quality and Productivity) within this Operation. This leader will have Five Supervisors and  70 indirect reports and will need to work hand in hand with several key leaders to drive the companies Key Performance Indicators so they can continue to Achieve Outstanding Results.

Must Have's

·         Must be able to lead up to 70 hourly union employees

·         Lean Sigma Experience - must have knowledge of the process and systems

·         Must be able to lead up to 70 hourly union employees

·         Safety Experience

·         Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance Experiences

Preferred

Lean Champion- Full Relocation to Cleveland

We are searching for a Lean Expert to help lead a company in a multi-year journey to Lean excellence.  This Lean Champion will partner with Plant Manager, Executives and leaders at all levels of the organization in identifying Lean improvement opportunities and help lead, manage and execute projects from concept through to completion. This is a highly visible role and you will interact with the Executive Management and the CEO.

As the Lean Champion you will:

·         Help with the Lean Steering Committee with the Global Leadership team in helping to identify activities, values, select Kaizen events and ensure proper resourcing and preparation for all events.

·         Link Lean activities to the business objectives and each site and develop transformation plans in collaboration with the site leadership teams.

·         Develop and maintain detailed process maps, metrics and control plans for the key manufacturing processes.

·         Manage a Kaizen Promotion Office to perform pre-event training, prepare the plant/department for events, develop and implement a communication plan, conduct post event follow-up and auditing of results and mentor KPO team members.

·         Build and maintain the foundation for continuous improvement by ensuring the effective functioning of transformation activities aligned to a Lean Operating System.

·          Teach Lean tools to all levels of the organization (Kaizen, 6S, TPM, Set-up reduction, Standard Work, Visual Management, SQDC board, MDI, etc.)

·         Lead Kaizen Events.

·         Act as the plant's internal 6-S calibration expert globally.

·         Travel 75% of the time to work with the plants.

Qualifications

·         BS - Engineering or Operations Manager - MBA is a Plus

·         Five or more years experience in plant/business function leadership

·         At least two (2) successful transformational experiences where Lean was used as part of the catalyst and foundation for the change either in focused transformational leadership role or as part of the Senior Operating team driving the change. Demonstrated impact that translated to clear, bottom line performance results with step-function change.

·         Formal Lean training from an "academy" organization - either through direct consulting experiences (i.e. Shingijutsu, TBM) or via organization with deep, well established lean operating systems (Toyota, Danaher, etc)

·         Personal experience in leading more than 50 Kaizen events

·         Proven success designing and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving through-put, shortening cycle time, and improving inventory turns.
