Embedded Software Engineer- West
Description
Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of currency collectors and other unattended transaction systems. Their brand has world wide recognition in vending, soft drink, gaming, amusement, transportation, tele-communications, retail, and kiosk markets. Today, their electronic payment systems are relied upon for more than 2 billion transactions per week in 100 countries.
We have been retained to help our client's new product development group identify Embedded Software Engineers that will design and develop real-time embedded control and processing software that will integrate with our client's currency collector hardware.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- At least 3 years experience in the design and development of embedded systems in C for 8, 16, and 32 bit microprocessors
- Experience developing for real time or near real time processing/computing
- Experience interfacing with low-level hardware functions
- Embedded micro-controller development highly desirable
- Experience with TI DSP, link state routing [mesh] protocols and embedded Linux is considered a plus
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the embedded C code design and development for new products and in support of existing designs
- Develop flexible and powerful APIs to support higher level software system integration
- Perform analysis, modeling, and testing of production code
- Coordinate with hardware engineers on hardware design activities as they relate to firmware development
- Participate in Hardware/Software integration activities, including the development of test code/scripts to aid in hardware debugging activities
- Participate in and comply with Client's software development processes including peer reviews and software releases
