Product Engineer

Position Summary/Relocation Benefits
This position will provide technical expertise and support for system inspection and evaluation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and system groom with supervision of various RADAR and communication equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate and support robust assembly, integration and test procedures and equipment for RADAR systems and other complex RF and microwave defense electronic products.

Interface with customers and other design agents to understand product specifications and test requirements.
Support Production and Program management in the assembly and test of products and systems to customer expectations. Propose, evaluate and implement recommendations for improvements.

Develop and maintain expertise in the function and operation of products and systems, and support troubleshooting in a production and systems integration environment.

Assist in ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Basic Qualifications
10 or more years work experience in an applicable electronics field required; previous exposure to a manufacturing environment preferred.

U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and hold a DoD security clearance required.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex technical information in a concise, easily-understood format to management, customers (both technical and non-technical), executives and others as required.

Experience working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment desired.
Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of transmitters and receivers; IF/RF and microwave systems; timing systems and modulation theory. Thorough understanding of digital and analog circuitry; passive and active RF components (including both low and high power devices) and processor based controls required.

Experience with microstrip and stripline circuits (including switches, attenuators, divider/combiners and couplers) preferred.

Direct experience with high power pulsed and CW radar transmitters, closed-loop servo systems, VME computer architecture and systems integration required.

Experience with microwave communications equipment and digital data links desired.
Working knowledge of standard software interfaces and controls required.
Proficiency in the development of automated test systems using LabWindows or LabView graphical user interface design tools desired.

Ability to test and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies and systems; and to train production technicians on test procedures and troubleshooting methodology required.

Thorough understanding of operating electronic test equipment, to include: network analyzers (including time domain), oscilloscopes, various high power set-ups, spectrum analyzers and pulse generators required.

Understanding of antenna test pattern set-up and measurement, and experience testing antennas on an outdoor test range or indoors on a ground plane or in an anechoic chamber required.

Experience implementing Navmat ESS vibration and temperature cycling desired.
